Our Staff

Mt. Olympus is blessed with highly-qualified, dedicated, and loving teachers. All of our teachers must pass a thorough background check, fingerprints, and complete at least 20 hours of continuing education training per year. In addition, they are all first-aid and CPR certified.



    Shanda Hildebrand is the Director of Mt. Olympus Christian Child Development Center and has worked with us for 18 years. She has worked in the Early Childhood field for 25 years. She has a National Administrator Credential (NAC) and is currently in the process of obtaining her Child Development Associate (CDA). For seven years of her time at Mt. Olympus, Shanda created and taught in our Private Kindergarten. She loves watching children learn and grow while helping them succeed. Shanda takes great pride in knowing that our Center is one that strives for excellence and quality while promoting a strong Christian environment.

    She is a native Utahn who appreciates the beautiful and diverse landscape of our state. She is married with two kiddos of her own and one very precious fur baby! Both of her children are very active in extracurricular activities are always on the go, from baseball games to the tumbling gym. She loves re-purposing furniture and being crafty. She enjoys camping in the beautiful mountains, fishing, and hiking in the red rocks of Southern Utah. When it is too hot in the city, you can find her at any of the local lakes attempting to paddle board. When she has a few seconds to slow down, she has her nose buried in a good book.



    Ms. Maddie has been working in Early Childhood Education for the past seven years. Although she studied Elementary Education, she has found her passion with the little ones. Before she took on the role of Assistant Director, she worked primarily with two, three, and four-year-olds. She loved being able to teach the children new things every day and share in their excitement for learning. Now, she loves being able to play an active role in each of our families lives. She also enjoys learning from and mentoring all of our wonderful teachers. In her spare time, Ms. Maddie loves being with her husband, pets, and family. She is always up for a night of karaoke, enjoys DIY projects, crafts, and paddle boarding.

    Ms. Yolanda has been with Mt. Olympus for six years. She is originally from Oceanside, California. Her family moved to Virginia before settling in Utah in 1994. This is her first job in childcare. She absolutely loves it, especially working with the babies! Currently, she is working on obtaining her Child Development Associates (CDA), and hopes to complete that within the year. Ms. Yolanda is married with two children ages 10 and 12.

  • Anna Hansen


    Ms. Anna has always loved working with children. After several years of exploration, she has returned to follow her passion for teaching and is back with the infants where she loves to be. She will be working towards obtaining her CDA. She has participated in many different volunteer opportunities with school-age children. In 2015, she spent several weeks in Cambodia helping to build a preschool and teaching hygiene to the local children. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and drawing. She and her husband love to take their two dogs Molly and Bagheera camping and jeeping as much as possible!



    Ms. Guadalupe was born in Mexico and moved to Utah when she was 15 years old. She has been the Lead Toddler Teacher at Mt. O for the past six years, and has over 16 years of experience working with children. She is at Level 8 on the Utah Early Childhood Education Career Ladder and has her Child Development Associates (CDA). Ms. Lupe loves working with children because she feels it is such a rewarding job. It is a wonderful feeling for her to see the children learn and grow. She is married and has two boys of her own: Andres; 12, and Ivan; 7. Their favorite thing to do as a family is go to the movies.



    Ms. Brandy has worked at Mt. Olympus for the past eight years. She loves working with children. Her favorite things about her job is watching the little ones grow and seeing their personalities develop. In her free time, she can be found camping, hiking, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors looking for scenes to photograph. Most of all, she loves spending time with her six year old son and her family.



    Ms. Sara has worked at Mt. Olympus for the past 15 years. She has experience in all of the classrooms, but has found her calling with our Twos class. As Ms. Sara says, "The two-year-olds have my heart". Her favorite thing about working with her class is watching their personalities and speech grow throughout the year. She loves how excited they are to learn new things. Aside from work, Sara has four beautiful children that she loves to spend time with.She has lived in Utah for the past 17 years, previously living in Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina.

  • Rachelle Black

    Twos Assistant teacher

    Ms. Rachelle has been working at Mt. Olympus for over a year now. This is her first official job in childcare. She is currently working on obtaining her Associates Degree in Social Work. Her goal is to earn her Masters Degree in Social Work. Ms. Rachelle has a five year old son named Lyle who will be attending Kindergarten in the fall. Rachelle is very artistic. In her free time, she loves working on art projects. She is also in the Utah Fire Tribe. She is very dedicated to her friends and family, and enjoys spending time with them whenever possible.

  • Abby Black


    Ms. Abby has her Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. She has always loved working with young children and strives to help them learn all that they can about the world. When she began working as our Preschool teacher, she was excited to start putting her knowledge to the test. In her spare time, Ms. Abby loves to read, sleep, and spend time with her family. She always enjoys playing outside with her two dogs.

  • Kiersten Ehlert


    Ms. Kiersten recently graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Utah in Human Development with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. She has been working with children in an educational setting for two and a half years. She has been at Mt. Olympus for the past year and a half. She loves watching and helping the kids continually learn and develop. In her spare time, Ms. Kiersten enjoys reading and painting.

  • Taylor Whittle


    Ms. Taylor was born in Mesa, Arizona and lived in Colorado for nearly 20 years. She loved Colorado so much, but knew that there was another path out there, and it led her to Salt Lake City in 2017. She has loved exploring Utah and getting to know so many wonderful people. She feels truly blessed for the friendships and associations that have come into her life! Ms. Taylor has been in the Early Childhood Education field since 2014 and recently earned her Child Development Associates credential in June. She has a big passion for teaching and is fulfilled when working with children on a daily basis! She hopes to provide a safe, happy and experience-rich environment for the children in her care. More than anything, she wants to impact children in a positive way that will open up new opportunities and experiences for them in the future!

    She loves to laugh and have fun with those around her! She finds joy in the little things in life because those make up the much bigger picture in the end. She loves to bake (and loves watching “The Great British Baking Show”), draw, write and sing! Being creative is the best! Mermaids, rings, cookies, and makeup are a few of her favorite things.



    Ms. Ally worked for Mount Olympus 10 years ago. She took some time off when her children (Addy, Carter, Lincoln, and Olivia) were born to be a stay-at-home mom. Now that her kids have grown a little, she is very happy to be back with us! She loves working with children and getting to know families.She is a native Utahn, but lived in Virginia for five years. In her spare time, Ms. Ally loves to run, hike, read, and spend time with her family.

  • Tammy Villa-Humphreys


    Ms. Tammy is a new addition to our team this year. We are so excited to have her join us. Ms. Tammy has a passion for development. Graduating with a degree in Psychology from Westminster in 2004, she has spent most of her time in government and the private sector. With her two children now in school, she decided it was time to do something for herself and become a teacher. She is excited to watch her class grow, learn, and create excitement about education.

    When she isn't in the classroom, Tammy loves RV camping with her family, walking her dogs, and indulging in new foods.



    Ms. Kimberlee was born in Salt Lake City, Utah but she has lived all over the United States. Her father was in the US Army-yes, she’s an Army Brat! She has lived in seven different states and went to many different schools, including three different high schools. Ms. Kimberlee has worked in Early Childhood Education for over 18 years. She started working at Mt. O in 2010-2013, leaving to pursue another career field. However, she realized how much she missed working with children and the fulfillment they bring. She opened her own daycare so that she could stay home with her children. She rejoined us here in 2018. Outside of work, Ms. Kimberlee enjoys crocheting and spending time with her three daughters whom she adores.

    Ms. Yanni (Jenny) was born in China and moved to Utah three years ago with her family. Before moving to America, she worked with young children for four years. She loves working with kids because seeing them play and smile brings her great joy. Ms. Yanni has been married for six years and has one son named William; Billy for short. He is the light of their lives.
