Temporary Operating Procedures for COVID-19

Mount Olympus has worked diligently during the pandemic to keep our staff, families, and children healthy and safe. We are blessed to now have 90%+ of our staff and parents vaccinated in our school community. We will continue to follow COVID-19 protocols to protect the children in our care until it is safe to discontinue. Below is an outline of the protocols we follow:

  • Temporary Operating Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. Scheduled closures for holidays still in effect.
  • Parents may now drop off and pick up children in their classrooms. Masks will be required for all individuals entering the childcare center, regardless of vaccination status.
  • Hand sanitizer is available at the entrance and is required to be used upon entering.
  • All staff, children, and visitors must screen themselves for the following symptoms before they are allowed to enter the facility: Fever, cough, trouble breathing, sore throat, sudden change in taste or smell, and muscle aches and pains. Anyone with any of these symptoms will be sent home and recommended to be tested for COVID-19.
  • All staff and children 2 and older will wear masks.
  • No more than 20 people, including caregivers, will be allowed in any space at one time, excluding the Summer Camp classes.
  • All areas where groups of children may “share a space” will be cleaned and sanitized after each group.
  • Any students with exposures to COVID-19 in their households are excluded from care for 10 days and negative COVID-19 test results.
  • All toys will be cleaned and sanitized daily.
  • All surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized daily.
  • Frequently touched surfaces will be cleaned and sanitized multiple times each day.
  • If there is a confirmed case of COVID-19 at the facility, the childcare will consult with the local health department on next steps and when to reopen. Depending on the situation, this may result in closure of a classroom or the center. Parents will be notified of any positive cases at the school.

While these procedures are temporary, we do not have a timeline or an estimated date of when things will return to normal. However, if we work together, we can overcome all obstacles. Thank you for making our Mount Olympus community so strong and such a great place to be a part of.
